Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max Vs. Samsung Galaxy Ultra
For as long as there have been iPhones and Android phones, we have had Apple versus Samsung. Recently, both brands have released a big powerhouse of a device with specifications that will make any tech enthusiast drool. The iPhone 13 Pro Max and Samsung S21 Ultra have been launched recently in 2021, leaving tech lovers confused about which one to go for. As you can imagine, each device has its pros and cons, but which is stronger in the areas that matter to you the most? In this post, we will go through the differences in specifications and share some insight to help you pick the right one that suits your taste and budget.

So, before you decide to buy either one of these two devices from an online electronic store, make sure you go through this comparison post first:

Design

The iPhone 13 Pro Max weighs 240 grams, while the Samsung S21 Ultra is only 227 grams. The 13 Pro Max has stainless steel and glass finish, unlike S21 Ultra that uses Aluminum and glass. Both the devices are resistant to water and dust.

In terms of design and aesthetics, Apple and Samsung have taken different approaches with their flagship smartphones. The only visible similarity is that both devices are made from metal and glass. However, Apple has opted for surgical grade stainless steel while Samsung has Aluminum.

The interesting fact is that the Samsung device is taller and thicker than the iPhone device, which is also lighter and narrower, with a curvier back. That means it has a better one-hand feel than the sleek and flat iPhone.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a bit of an edge in the precision of some of the design elements. When you look at its camera housing, you will notice a seamless curve up from the glass on its back. Samsung too has that seamless appearance, and it wraps around the edges. However, there are very tiny lines that ruin the illusion.

Display

The 13 Pro Max is 6.7 inches with OLED – 1284 x 2778 resolution. On the other hand, the S21 Ultra is 6.8 inches with AMOLED – 1440 x 3200 resolution. The Apple device uses Dolby Vision, HDR10, 1200 nits peak brightness. Unlike, the S21 Ultra has HDR10+, 1500 nits peak brightness.

In terms of display, it is safe to say that the two devices are surprisingly evenly matched, despite what the specification list may lead you to believe. While there are differences, you may not notice because they are not enough to make one worth choosing over the other.

For example, the Samsung device is larger and slightly sharper when it comes to pixel density. However, when you are watching these two devices side by side, it can be a little tricky to notice significant differences.

Both devices also feature the same 120Hz screen refresh rates. They even have their own ambient colour matching tech to decrease blue light on the screen.

Battery

13 Pro Max comes with an approximately 4300mAh battery. The

S21 Ultra uses a 5000mAh battery. Both the devices have almost the same performance and battery life.

As speed and fluidity are concerned, the two devices are quite similar. The two devices are fast and responsive, meaning applications and games will load quickly.

Cameras

Samsung and Apple have primary, Ultra-wide and 3x telephoto zoom cameras. The S21 Ultra features the periscope 10x optical zoom. Both use primary, ultrawide, 3X telephoto zoom cameras. However, the Samsung S21 Ultra also uses the periscope 10X optical zoom, enabling users to zoom closer into the scene without losing any detail.

Both devices do well in lower light shots, though they take a different approach to temperature. They also can shoot in slow-motion. However, from a video perspective, iPhone has a Cinematic mode that introduces a relatively natural background blur. Then it slowly pulls focus if you move to point the camera at something else.

All in all, you will get a great camera, no matter which one you go for.
